Coming to a new church can be an intimidating experience. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible at St. George's, while you are getting to know us. In the spirit of hospitality and welcoming, we offer the following:
Greeters
Every Sunday an experienced parishioner is on duty to welcome you and to assist you in further enquiry about our church and our activities. Look for the person with the clipboard after each service!
Coffee Hour and Bagel Sundays
Join us for coffee or tea every Sunday after the 10 am service, downstairs in Thompson Hall, to mix and mingle with old and new friends. Once a month join us for bagels, coffee, tea and socializing, between the 8:15 and 10 am services. Check the calendar for dates.
Every Sunday at the 10 am service for children age 3 and up. Children start the service with their families in church, then go downstairs with their teachers. More information on Sunday School
Social Events and Fun
We offer a variety of social events so parishioners can get acquainted on an informal basis and to help welcome Newcomers into the life of our church. These events include dinners, parties, games nights, theatre outings - all kinds of celebrations. You will see notices of these events in the weekly bulletin and on this website. Please join us!
We also host Newcomer Socials, which are held three to four times a year. They are a great opportunity to get to know people socially, and have questions answered in a relaxed setting.
Spiritual Life and Growth
We offer several opportunities for spiritual exploration and growth and for learning more about who God is and how God is involved in our lives. Check out our Sunday worship times, our Wednesday morning Eucharist or our weekly Bible study on Wednesday evenings. We also offer special worship services throughout the year, such as Evensong, Taize, Women's eucharist, seasonal book studies, and opportunities for quiet days and retreats.
Ministry Team
Our Rector and his team of lay readers, deacon and clerical assistants are here to answer your questions about worship traditions, Anglican liturgy, and the sacraments. Feel free to approach us with your questions.
We want you and your family to feel at home with us. If there is anything else we can do to help make that happen, please let us know!
