Greeters
The Greeters of St George’s are responsible for a number of duties each Sunday. Some of the responsibilities include the following: welcoming people to the sanctuary, distributing orders of service, arranging seating and extra seating, coordinating lighting, ventilation, and the sound system, collecting the offering, and monitoring the flow of parishioners for communion.
It is a very pleasant experience and a great way to welcome parishioners to our Church!
The commitment is simply to serve at a 10:00 a.m. Service (usually) once every 6-8 weeks and to serve once during major Church events like Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, etc.
Newcomers Greeters
We have a special group of Greeters who are dedicted to Newcomers. Each Sunday morning there is a person available to introduce a newcomer to St George's and to answer questions about the chuch. Information on services, programs and contact people is offered. The Newcomer Greeters also help introduce newcomers to other members of the parish so they can get to know us.
Three times a year we hold a Wine and Cheese gathering to introduce newcomers to each other and to members of various groups of the parish! This is a great perk for our Newcomer Greeters too!
Please contact the church office to volunteer as a Greeter or a Newcomer Greeter, or to find out more information about either role.
