Money and Faith

Why We Give

Our money puts our faith into action.  We give to support the church buildings and programs,  and we also give to support our wider community. Regular giving can be done through envelopes, or by Pre-Authorised monthly debit.

" Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. "   II Corinthians 9:7

Envelope Program

Envelopes are provided to allow for an orderly program of regular giving. By taking an envelope set you allow your givings to be specified according to your wishes, be it to Parish Ministry, Outreach Activities, Capital Projects or some other area special to you.

The use of envelopes allows the Parish to provide you with a detailed quarterly record of your givings. Following the calendar year end a Charitable Donation Receipt will be provided.

To obtain envelopes simply contact the parish office during the week or see the Warden on duty on Sunday.

Grocery Vouchers

Do You Buy Groceries? Everyone has to eat! Purchase vouchers or gift cards for your favourite grocery store, use them like cash to buy your groceries and help support St. George's!

Vouchers or gift cards are purchased at face value from St. George's. The Church makes 4% or $4 for every $100 of gift cards we sell. We have gift cards for Zehrs, Sobeys and their affiliates and vouchers for Food Basics in various values starting from $5.00 to $250.00.

 grocery bag

In 2007, the grocery voucher program raised $2000 for the church. If 20 families in the congregation bought $100 of gift cards every week, the church would make over $4000 a year. In addition to buying your own groceries, the gift cards and vouchers are an excellent gift for anyone.

Most Sundays, the gift cards and vouchers are for sale after the 8:15 am service, as well as before and after the 10:00 am service. We accept cash or a cheque made out to St. George's of Forest Hill. Please consider this wonderful opportunity to help support the good work of St. George's.
