Our Leadership

We have a strong leadership team in place at St. George's church, led by our Rector, Fr. Donald Davidson and Assistant Curate, Rev. Marita Williams, and assisted by three associate priests. Our music program is led by Music Director Robert Aszmies and our Organist, John Shaw.


Rector - Fr. Donald Davidson

Fr. Don Davidson completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Religious Studies at Laurentian University, and the Master of Divinity Degree with honours at Huron University College of the University of Western Ontario in London.  Following graduation in 1993, he was appointed Lay Pastor-in-charge of St. Thomas the Apostle and St. David's churches in Cambridge, awaiting ordination. He was later appointed Deacon-in-charge and Rector of St. Thomas and St. David's.  He served 11 years as Rector of that parish before coming to serve at St. George's of Forest Hill in 2004.

Apart from his theological training,  Fr. Don is also an organist, and trained tenor, and adds these gifts to the work of Pastoral Care and Outreach that he exercises at St. George's.

Beyond his parish ministry, Fr. Don has served as the Archbishop's Chaplain to the Brotherhood of Anglican Churchmen (1997-2001), Member of the Bishop's Charge Committee (1999), Bishop's Examining Chaplain for the Diocesan Deacon's Board (2002-present).

Parish Administrator

Our Parish Administrator is Valerie O'Reilly. Val assumed her current responsibilities in August 2003. She books all meetings, concerts, sundry rentals etc for the church and hall. She also books weddings, baptisms, and funerals.

 

Valerie also arranges for all service bulletins, as well as attending to all minutes of the various parish committees and groups.

 

Valerie can be contacted at the Church Office or by phone at 519-744-4751 with office hours 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. with the exception of July and August when the hours are Tuesday and Thursday 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and Wednesday 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

 


St. George's Sexton

Carol Lodin, who assumed the duties of parish sexton in August 2004, is one very busy lady. Her responsibilities include ensuring the church is always ready for worship no matter what day or time. She also cleans up after any special events such as weddings, funerals or other special events.

 

Carol also ensures all refuse is sorted properly and out for collection as called for. Her cleaning efforts often include environmentally friendly products which add to the pleasant atmosphere of the church and hall.
