St. George's PrimeTimers

This social group of young at heart, 50+ year old parishioners and friends, convenes 5 or 6 times per year for activities including bus trips, theatre outings, barbecues, theme nights,  and more.

Promotional material and a summary of information collected at our fall wine and cheese can be found in, or above, your mailslot. Feel free to take additional copies for friends who do, or may, want to attend future events of our social group.

In addition, you will see three sign-up sheets posted above the mailslots seeking support for the planning of upcoming events. We are suggesting a games night to be held sometime between mid-February and mid-March in Thompson Hall (easy to plan and a low cost event), a spring outing (perhaps a bus trip) between mid-April and mid-June and finally a summer barbecue.

Please volunteer your time to help get these events off the ground. If the work involved in planning these activities is shared, it is more enjoyable for everyone. If volunteers do not step forward, it will be assumed that there is not enough interest to proceed with the planning.

Women's Guild - Book Club

We meet from 7:30pm - 9:30pm on the 3rd Wednesday of the month in the Fireside Room. We all read the same book each month from suggestions put forward from all participants. We try to have a variety of styles (memoir, mystery, fiction, religious) and often use discussion questions that the authors themselves have provided. While the discussion questions vary in depth, we typically discuss the books in a general manner (as opposed to academically).

If we haven't read the book, we come anyway to enjoy the laughter, friendship and yummy snacks! Currently we have approximately 15 regular attendees, who come whenever they are able - there is no mandatory attendance!  All women are welcome - we have a lot of fun!

For more information, please contact Marg Ryrie.

Senior's Exercise Program

Physical fitness is a key ingredient for a healthy lifestyle in our retirement years. This co-ed group meets for a one-hour, low impact, exercise program each Monday morning in the church hall from September to April.

Hope you've hade a Fun, Fit summer!  Welcome back to our first fall class on Monday, September 15th - from 10:45 to 11:45 in Thompson Hall!

Parish Breakfasts

Parish Breakfasts are a great opportunity to spend time with old friends and make new ones!

St George's parish family and friends get together 4-5 times a year for an informal breakfast. The breakfasts are held on a Sunday from 9:00 am - 10:00 am, between the 8:15 am and 10:00 am services. The menu is usually juice, toast, eggs, French toast and pancakes.

There is no charge but a free will offering helps to defray costs. Check the News and Events page for the next date.
