Assistant Curate and Student Intern


Rev. Marita Williams, Assistant Curate

 

Rev. Williams completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Waterloo and her Master of Divinity from Huron University College at the University of Western Ontario. She was ordained Priest in June 2008. Originally from Negril, Jamaica, Rev. Williams will divide her time and her pastoral duties between St. George's and the Diocese of Jamaica. She has ministered to parishioners in hospitals and nursing homes, and has served as On Call Chaplain at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, and brings her skills and experience in these ministries to her work at St. George's.

 

Rev. Williams is also a published author, a member of Toastmasters International and a prominent local speaker. She and her husband Henry enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren, and walking the beach in Negril.

Laura Lightfoot, Student Intern

 

Laura Lightfoot is a second year Master of Divinity student at Huron University College. She completed her undergraduate degree in Social Development Studies at Renison College, University of Waterloo. Prior to her seminary studies Laura worked for several years in social services with individuals and families, specializing in services to marginalized members of the community throughout Southwestern Ontario.

 

Laura will be our student intern at St. George's Forest Hill for the coming year.
