Knitting for Central and South America We have a new activity at St. George’s! It came to our attention that people in the mountainous areas of countries in Central and South America live through damp cold winters. A nurse working in these areas noticed that many people, and in particular children, contracted chest conditions including pneumonia. To help prevent this she thought that they needed protection from the inclement weather and asked friends and family in North America to knit vests for them. Thank you to everyone who has responded to the call for knitters. This is an on going Outreach programme and your involvement is greatly appreciated. There is a plastic container in the Narthex containing patterns and yarn for anyone who is interested in joining our industrious group of knitters. (If you crochet there is a pattern for you too). Donation of yarn is also appreciated.
